The Holodeck: Part #5

The Andrew Sisters “Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy”

Edward: Standing there face to face, their eyes locked. Edward feels an itch on his leg. The itch causing his trigger finger to squeeze “put”

The shot is wide “Oh Sh-t” says Edward looking like a kid in a candy store. Suddenly, volley after volley of paint balls erupt from his chest. The paint balls changed a beautiful black suit into a beautiful multicolored suit.

“My bad dog that was an accident” says Edward lying next to his wet ham sandwich and large cola. The paint slowly spreading as the rain made it travel. He wanted to lie there and die, but duty calls. His pride had been hurt.

Lifting his head up, pointing his guns and looking at Ben” It’s on now sucker “he says before emptying his guns at Ben.

Light as a butterfly, Ben dances away smiling at the carnage he had done this day. Hiding behind a dumpster” You should have followed the light” he says firing a few more volleys at Edward” Now you have to pay monkey boy”

Standing up Edward takes one last look at his ham sandwich, takes two puffs on his cigar and officially joins in on the war of the Garages.

Sugie: Sugie backs up her partner by volleying shots at Edward. She had wanted him for their side, but he and his itchy trigger finger has made that impossible. Ben lays down cover as she dashes behind the dumpster to join him and plan for their next move.

“Ben, we need more allies,” Sugie says, breathing hard.

“And you need more clothes!” Ben says, noticing that the dress is gone.

“Oh, never mind that, I’m fine,” Sugie says. “I just wonder if Jaselyn would be willing to join us. She’s a fierce fighter, and I’ve always liked that girl. I don’t know how strong her loyalty to ABC is. Let’s go see if we can find her.”

“A great plan. And if we can’t convince her to join us…”

“Ambush!” they yell together, and while Edward is focused on trying to revive his sandwich and drink the last few drops of his cola, they slip out of the alley to see if they can’t find Jaselyn…

Angela: Suspecting her forces are rallying against her, Angela assesses her surroundings and returns to the ol’ playbook.  It’s Me the Mod against Ben the Defiler, Sugie the Rogue, Jaselyn… a potential threat or a trusted ally… only time can tell… and Edward… with a hankering for ham sandwiches.

The rain has stopped, leaving a moist weight in the air.

“And I already equipped Jaselyn with my own grenades.  There is something to say about debts.”

Taking her chances, Angela drops to her belly and shimmies herself along the pavement to Edward who lays on the ground enjoying his ham.  In her best Batman voice (Iron man is better than Batman), Angela says all raspy like, “Hey.  I’ve got mustard.”

Jaselyn: Back in the original alley, Jaselyn adjusts her stylish cloche, even though it goes terribly with her pin-striped zoot suit. She checks her gun for ammo, and seeing it all loaded with her lushly-fertlitized-suburban-lawn-green paintballs, she ensures that her paint grenades are still within easy access.

The sounds of the night battle echo through the alley, and she can tell damage has been done this night. The runoff from the rain washes a small river of multi-colored paint into the gutter.

Breathing deeply (because everyone Jaselyn writes about must breathe deeply before any momentous occasion), she steps out into the street and surveys her surroundings while she is still outside everyone’s focus. She can see Ben and Sugie hiding behind an overfull dumpster, and she can see the trail of paint where Angela shimmied into the other alley to parlay with Edward.

Sneaking her way behind the Studebaker, she realizes she has a perfect shot, and with a fierce battle cry, tosses a live grenade behind the dumpster and rains down a fury of lush-lawn-green paint upon Sugie and Ben!

Her loyalty unbesmirched, Ben and Sugie turn to face their foe, disappointment etched on their faces, but quickly replaced by terror.

“Come and get me, you yellow-bellied gizzards!” she cries out, hoping to distract them long enough for Angela to have the chance to persuade Edward to join their side.

Angela:  While extending a mustard squeeze-bottle to Edward, Angela peers over her shoulder… and grins.  “That’s my girl.”

Sugie: Sugie would be more devastated, but the beautiful color of green coating her and Ben make her more cheerful. She has a secret, but she’s not sharing it. It will be revealed soon.

She and Ben shake the extra paint off, and fire multi-colored paintballs at Jaselyn. Sugie utters a primal wail as she does this, not because she’s upset but because she’s really just having so much fun.

She is taken up short when Ben…

Biographical Info... What you seek is my Story. Every Soul is a "Blurb" as one would read on the back of the book. But can people be "unwrapped" so easily? Most importantly, why try? I have long since learned to preserve the Savory that comes with Discovery. Learning of another Soul is a Journey. It is an Exploration. And it does not do the Soul Justice to try and condense a Soul Journey into a Bio.
